Renaldo Johnson a native of Montgomery, Alabama was a standout high school player and attended Carl Albert State College in Potea, Oklahoma. While in college, Johnson was voted one of the top 40 JUCO players in the nation. Following his short stint at Carl Albert, Johnson would go on to attend East Tennessee State University (E.T.S.U.) where he played two years and was voted CO-MVP of the 2001 Southern Conference Champions.

Johnson would play overseas in countries such as Finland, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay, and also have played streetball games in countries such as Tahiti, Canada, Barbados and Dominican Republic.
